“What if?” is a term often used by fans for what could have happened, but didn’t. There have been a lot of those throughout and after the 2015 season for the Buffalo Bills. They are just a way for fans to moan over what could’ve been of the season. Let me pose this hypothetical question: What If Tyrod Taylor didn’t sprain his MCL, therefore not missing two important weeks of the season?
There’s no way of knowing for sure, but here are some gut-wrenching scenarios.
This first scenario is that the Bills win both their games against the Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars putting them at 5-2 riding high on a 3 game win streak heading into the bye week. The following weeks they beat the Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets while losing to the New England Patriots.
However, Tyrod Taylor did hurt his shoulder in the week 11 loss against New England. Let’s say that never happens. They probably still would’ve lost against the Patriots, but they beat the Kansas City Chiefs and move into prime playoff position sitting at 8-3.
If the rest of the season plays out the same the Buffalo Bills would be in the playoffs. They would play the Houston Texans whom they beat earlier in the season weather they win is up to the comments.
In this scenario the Bills lose a close one to the Bengals and blowout the Jaguars. This puts them at 4-3 going into the bye week. We’re gonna assume they beat the Dolphins again but this time they don’t get so lucky against the Jets and lose that one. They also lose the next two against the Patriots and the Chiefs.
As they are sitting at 5-6 they beat both the Houston Texans and the Philadelphia Eagles. Let’s say the rest of the season plays out the same way the Bills would miss the playoffs at 9-7 for the 16 straight year.
Last but not least, scenario 3. If you couldn’t tell from the pattern of the other ones, the Bills lose both the games against the Bengals and Jaguars again, but with Tyrod instead of EJ. The Bills lose the same games and win the same. This is very possible, but I mean it’s Jaguars, right?
