The 2016 NFL Draft is just weeks away and after several months of breaking down countless prospects that the Buffalo Bills could potentially select, I’ve finally gotten around to organizing and ranking the players. The “Big Board” is how many analysts/evaluators like to rank their prospects in numerical order, but I found that to be difficult, based on varying positional values. Instead, I used the horizontal board, in which I rank each prospect in the 2016 NFL Draft by position and by the round value in which I view them.
Keep in mind that these are my personal rankings and I don’t expect you to agree with all of them, if any!. That’s what makes the draft community so entertaining–the ability for multiple people to watch the same player in the same game and come away with multiple viewpoints. It’s always interesting for me to see the different traits that different evaluators look for at different positions, player types or roles, so I definitely encourage you all to share your thoughts, comments and insults either in the comments section or on Twitter at @RQuinn619
Futhermore, at Building the Herd, we’ve been pumping out in-depth scouting reports highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of over 60 2016 NFL Draft prospects, complete with video analysis on our “Scouting Department” page which you can find here. If there’s a player that we haven’t written up yet that you want to read about, shoot us a message and we’ll get one out!
Note: These are just the 2016 NFL Draft prospects that I’ve watched. This year, I focused more on a Buffalo Bills-centric approach, so I didn’t dive too deep into the running backs or tight ends. Also, evaluating cornerbacks with the video available online is very difficult due to the broadcast angle, so I only watched a handful.
